Autoimmune Conditions

Autoimmune conditions occur when the immune system mistakenly attacks the body’s own tissues, leading to inflammation, damage, and dysfunction in various organs and systems. These conditions are often chronic, but with the right nutritional and functional support, symptoms can be managed and quality of life can improve.

Hashimoto’s / Hypothyroidism

An autoimmune condition where the immune system targets the thyroid gland, leading to inflammation and decreased thyroid hormone production. Common symptoms include fatigue, weight gain, cold sensitivity, and brain fog.

Celiac Disease

An autoimmune reaction to gluten (a protein found in wheat, barley, and rye) that damages the small intestine lining, leading to malabsorption of nutrients. Symptoms may include digestive discomfort, skin rashes, fatigue, and nutrient deficiencies.

Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA)

A chronic autoimmune condition where the immune system attacks the joints, causing pain, swelling, stiffness, and potential joint damage. RA can also affect other organs and lead to systemic inflammation.

Endocrine Disorders

Endocrine disorders involve imbalances in the body’s hormone systems, which regulate everything from metabolism and energy to blood sugar, cholesterol, and reproductive health. These imbalances can lead to long-term health issues if left unaddressed but often respond well to early intervention and targeted nutrition.

Blood Sugar Dysregulation

A condition where the body struggles to maintain stable blood glucose levels, often causing fatigue, mood swings, sugar cravings, and energy crashes. Over time, it can increase the risk of insulin resistance and diabetes.

Pre-Diabetes

A metabolic state where blood sugar levels are elevated but not yet high enough to be classified as type 2 diabetes. It signals impaired insulin sensitivity and is a critical window for prevention through diet and lifestyle changes.

High Cholesterol (Dyslipidemia)

An imbalance in blood lipids—such as elevated LDL (bad cholesterol), low HDL (good cholesterol), or high triglycerides—that increases the risk of heart disease. It’s often linked to hormonal imbalances, insulin resistance, and inflammation.

GI Conditions

GI (Gastrointestinal) conditions refer to imbalances or dysfunctions within the digestive system. These issues can affect nutrient absorption, immune health, mood, and energy. Often rooted in inflammation, microbial imbalances, or poor gut motility, they are common—but highly manageable with the right nutritional and functional support.

Microbiome Imbalances

Disruption in the balance of good and bad bacteria in the gut, which can impact digestion, immunity, mood, and inflammation levels.

SIBO (Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth)

A condition where excess bacteria grow in the small intestine, leading to bloating, gas, diarrhea, or constipation after meals.

Heartburn & Indigestion

A burning sensation or discomfort caused by acid reflux or poor digestion, often linked to low stomach acid or poor eating habits.

Constipation

Infrequent or difficult bowel movements that may be caused by dehydration, poor diet, or gut motility issues.

Bloating & Gas

Excess gas or abdominal swelling, often related to food sensitivities, poor digestion, or microbial imbalances.

Diarrhea

Frequent, loose stools that can result from infection, food intolerances, inflammation, or gut dysbiosis.

Candida Overgrowth

An imbalance of yeast in the gut, which can cause bloating, sugar cravings, fatigue, brain fog, and skin issues.

H. pylori Infection

A bacterial infection in the stomach that can lead to ulcers, pain, nausea, and increased risk of gastric inflammation.

Urgent Bowel Movements

A sudden and intense need to use the bathroom, often tied to inflammation, infections, or poor gut regulation.

Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)

Includes conditions like Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, where the immune system attacks the GI tract, causing inflammation, pain, bleeding, and nutrient malabsorption.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

A functional gut disorder marked by alternating constipation, diarrhea, bloating, and abdominal pain—often linked to stress and gut-brain dysfunction.

Parasitic Infections

Infections caused by parasites in the gut, often contracted from contaminated food or water, leading to diarrhea, fatigue, and malabsorption.

Nausea

A queasy or unsettled stomach sensation, commonly caused by infections, food triggers, or digestive dysfunction.

Skin Conditions

Skin conditions are often a reflection of internal imbalances – including gut health, hormones, inflammation, and detoxification pathways. At Body Bliss Nutrition, Jennifer Clemente takes a root-cause approach to skin health by addressing what’s happening beneath the surface.

Acne

A common inflammatory skin condition caused by excess oil, clogged pores, bacteria, and often hormonal or dietary imbalances. Functional nutrition focuses on balancing hormones, reducing inflammation, and supporting gut health to clear skin from within.

Skin Rejuvenation from the Inside

A proactive, holistic approach to improving skin tone, texture, and elasticity through nutrient-dense foods, hydration, and detoxification. Supports collagen production, reduces oxidative stress, and enhances natural radiance.

Perioral Dermatitis

A facial rash that typically appears around the mouth and nose, often triggered by topical steroids, gut dysbiosis, or food sensitivities. Healing focuses on calming inflammation, restoring the microbiome, and removing irritants.

Other Conditions

Many chronic symptoms and frustrations with health are rooted in deeper imbalances—often missed by conventional testing. Jennifer Clemente takes a personalized, functional approach to help uncover and resolve the underlying causes of the following conditions:

Food Intolerance

An adverse reaction to certain foods that can cause bloating, headaches, fatigue, and digestive issues. Unlike allergies, these reactions are often delayed and driven by inflammation or gut imbalances.

Gluten Intolerance

A non-celiac sensitivity to gluten (a protein in wheat, barley, and rye) that can trigger digestive distress, brain fog, fatigue, and skin issues. Healing the gut and removing gluten often leads to noticeable relief.

Fatigue

Persistent tiredness that doesn’t improve with rest. Often linked to blood sugar imbalances, nutrient deficiencies, poor sleep, or chronic inflammation—functional testing helps identify the root cause.

Inflammation

A silent driver behind many chronic conditions, including joint pain, skin issues, and autoimmune disease. Functional nutrition reduces systemic inflammation by targeting food triggers, toxins, and gut health.

Weight Loss Resistance

Difficulty losing weight despite diet and exercise efforts, often caused by hormone imbalances, stress, inflammation, or insulin resistance. Addressing the root cause restores the body’s ability to release excess weight.

Weight Management

Support for achieving and maintaining a healthy weight through sustainable nutrition, blood sugar balance, and personalized metabolic strategies—without restrictive dieting.

Unexplained Weight Loss

Unexpected weight loss can be a sign of nutrient malabsorption, thyroid dysfunction, or underlying gut or immune issues. Jennifer uses advanced assessments to identify the cause and support healthy restoration.
